We  haven’t heard from Nic, our Australian wunderkind for a while, but guess what : He is back on the blog with another Nic Kelly Files episode! I emailed Nic and asked him, if he could create a Adobe tutorial, because we recon a big Audition fan base among the younger imaging and production guys.  Learn how to run your master real time. Enter Nic! (more…)

Last week we introduced our brand new category “The Nic Kelly Files” featuring one of the new generation of Imaging guys.  Nic Kelly from Australia!

After showing us how to create stunning beatmixing techniques in Adobe Audition, he’s got something special for you, no matter if you’re using Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic or any other DAW.

Today he shows us his self created Cosmonaut Voice:

Cosmonaut Voice is a stunning plugin which includes telephone voice, CB radio distortion, noise, squelch and even interplanetary effects…

Check out an example by David Konsky himself: just click here

Of course such a great plugin has it’s price which may be to exorbitant for a young producer, which just has started.

So, Nic Kelly created his OWN Cosmonaut Voice:

This example is created without Cosmonaut Voice! You don’t believe it? Then check out Nic’s plugin chain screenshots and take off to outer space. (more…)

Nic Kelly  from Oz. Right, there was this 15 year old self marketing imaging genius. In my opinion, Nic is one of the guys, who will rock the imaging scene in the future. I know no guy having his age, who has the same skill set and industry connections. There are great imaging guys, who give feedback to Nic about his work like David Konsky and many others. Nic is a master of self marketing, but also a great imaging talent. Becuase we really believe in his talent, Mike Santos, Oli and I decided to offer Nic the chance to get an Imaging superstar even faster and improve on a weekly basis by getting detailled feedback on productions, challenges, reviews and and and. I won’t call it an education program, because it is far more than that. Why? See the new category on the left – yes, Nic will have his own category on our blog to let you guys know what he did in the last weeks, what he created and achieved. His first post is about beatmixing in Adobe!

Enter Nic and Adobe Audition! (more…)

After Nic from Oz sent me his flood packaging in the last article I asked for some pieces you did and Roy from Ireland sent me an incredible piece he did for the King of Pop death last year.

Hey there, was just listening to Nic kellys piece
attached is a generic “plug your id id in and play” piece I did the day after Michael Jackson died for a bunch of clients.
think it works well
cheers, keep up the great work

Roy Hall – Mj here with u trail 2009 by Benztown Branding Blog

In general stuff like Nic’s or Roy’s Audio is still the ultimate and most challenging discipline in imaging to me. Why? It is hard to get great footage material, the right bed (catching the emotion perfectly), the matching PlugINs + the perfect tone of the Voice Over Guy…

Always think the listener doesn’t care about your new FX-Library or stutter effects you created. Remember yourseld being an ordiniary listener having no idea of radio imaging, – programing, its techniques, rules and magic tricks. The listener  can be easily touched through emotion; combined with your great production techniques you create a powerful weapon sets your station apart from the pack. Listen to the benztown MJ piece and learn more. (more…)

One of the worst natural catastrophies ever hit Australia in the last weeks. A lot of my friends in radio live there and our prayers and thoughts are with them, especially with my guys Rick and Simon both living in Brisbane and had no electric power yesterday.

My mate Nic Kelly sent through a great piece of Imaging. Please take the time and listen to that promo below – to me it is a perfect example for emotional imaging. In my opiion much more difficult to do than a zip zap festival….

I know exactly one! Nick from OZ and he is getting better each time I listen to his work sent to me by email. To me, Nick is THE upcoming talent in the imaging world: He is hungry to lear new stuff and recieving regular feedback from guys like Konsky and me.
