You all know Sidey. One of the most talented guys in the business and creative genius. But how can every one of us be creative, write great scripts and do remarkable work and do we need an R8 for it? Well, the last question is personal – I would go for a Porsche, but..does great Imaging has the need to be creative or is this non sense and it is all about turn around time, quick in and out and delivery of facts….What THE hell is CREATIVITY in radio imaging? Check my interview with Sidey! (more…)

Mike Andersen ACRA 2013

A few weeks since this years Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Brisbane – and there is one well known name when we take a look at the winners… My homie “Sideshow” Mike Andersen got the award for “Best Achievement in Production” again like in 2012 ! He produces for Triple M in ast year he said “In all honesty, there is nothing like a blueprint for how to win awards” but if keeps on rocking the ACRAs like this, we won’t believe anymore;) TELL US THE TRUTH!!!! Take a listen to his awarded reel and you know how he does it – by creating amazing, funny, innovative and high quality radio imaging!!!

Congrats Mike – we’re blown away again! And go for a Triple ACRA in 2014!!!

I really love working with young and aspiring imaging talents. It’s a great thing to see how young people develop, get inspired and one day are better than the guy educated them. Benztown’s philosopy was always to educate, share knowledge and grow together. I often use Mr. Miyagi as the perfect role model and Australia has a lot of them. BT, David Konsky, Matt Nikolic, Chris Davis, Sidey  – just to name a few.

Triple M‘s Brendan Tacey has developed a great recruitment system, which gets youngsters into the scene and helps established producers extend their work and talent.

Rock is an unbelievable broad and great imaged format. A format fun to work for – no matter, if you do a more alternative, classic or big balls rock station. What I like about rock is the great combo of wacky, noisy plugINs, FX, the intense beds the mean VO processing + the great and sometimes really bad ass copy writing.

Imaging maniacs were born for that format, legendary stations are still making massive numbers and Guitar Hero is one of the most played games here @benztown studios :)! Check some recent rock productions from Benztown Rock, see a secret PlugIn combo from Fabi & Paul Armstrong and let me know, which rock station do you think is imaged the best.
