After about 20 years in radio full-time, I’ve been working as a director of video productions for a manufacturing company in Kansas City for the last few years. I have clients I do imaging for as a freelancer on a consistent basis as well as working with my “home station,” KZPT-FM 997 the Point in Kansas City, where I’m also on-air as a weekend/fill-in jock.
I’d also like to mention how much I love this “Iron Imager” contest. I’d like to thank Benztown for making it happen. I’d like to thank Dan Kelly and the other champs for being involved and bringing a large amount of credibility to this event. The trip to LA and the chance to share the stage with Dan, catch some hang time with the Benztown Team is a prize in itself! If this brings me new opportunities, that’s just icing on the cake. This experience has easily been one of the most exciting things that has happened to me in my radio career.
I love you, radio.
Love, Brady

Speakerphone Matt Ines 2

Remember Matt Innes? The Globe Trotter of Imaging. He is back in Oz since a few weeks and signed up at Nova. Check his recent work and how he uses  VO layering and panning, mostly done with speaker phone, his favourite plug-in at the moment…

“I’m playing around with Layering voices at the moment. Layering then panning and using different settings in speakerphone. Within speakerphone, im using the ‘radio tuning’ bit down the bottom…really gives the layered VO a nice higher or lower frequency sound.”

Thanks to Matt for sharing his work and production tip with us!

More and more fancy plugINs with almost umlimited options and possibilities come our way and I am really happy about that, because I love using them a lot. My sessions are packed and I test whatever I can download as a demo. But there is also an unlimited rescource of great audio suite options and tricks we all used years ago or still using in particular situations. Since a few days, after opening an old session, I started to do a lot of audio suite layering and processing – again. And sure thing I played around with the audio suite tricks and added some Insert plugIns to the track. SO back to the good old days! Check out the screenshots and my detailed explanation of bpm related delay layering.
